Only I would somehow manage to cut myself on a chicken.


I just read that, and it happened like an hour ago, and I am still re-reading that and shaking my head at myself in disbelief.


Side knuckle, middle finger, left hand.

F*ck you too, Chicken.

    I’m about to try to cook a whole chicken. Never done it, already broke the rotisserie I got for Christmas. Wish me luck!

        It was horrible! I had no idea what I was doing, because I had planned to cook it in the rotisserie. I thought I remembered you saying something about a lemon and an onion, so I stuffed those in there, but I couldn’t find the giblets so I just assumed it didn’t have any. Then when it was done cooking the inside was fully of really gross black stuff. Ugh. I’m a terrible cook, lol1

        Oh no! What a horrible time for me to have bloggers remorse and delete over half that entry! eek!

        Sometimes the chickens have some giblets inside – usually they are in a little bag, but sometimes they aren’t – they would have been loose and free though I think? At least they seem to be anytime I get a chicken.

        When I shove stuff in the cavity, unless its stuffing – I just toss them when done, they are mostly to infuse the meat with flavor and to help the chicken hold its chickeny shape- so don’t worry about the black stuff, you weren’t going to eat that. It was likely a lot of blood that cooked and mixed with the juice from the lemon/oniony bits. ❤

        How was the meat itself?

        It didn’t taste bad. My son said it was delicious. But I underestimated how long it would take, so everything else was ready about an hour before the meat thermometer finally said the chicken was done. P.S. I came here before I started cooking it and I was like, “I KNOW she had instructions! I just KNOW it!” Lol!

        AND just for you – next time I do a chicken I’ll do a step by step with lots of pictures if that is helpful? I get them fairly often
